— Nightingales —
The Trabuco Hills High School Nightingales are an advanced-level treble ensemble open by audition only. As a 45-50 person/4-part voiced ensemble, these singers learn advanced choral literature and continue their choral education in vocal performance, music theory, and musicianship. Through their training in the choral arts, the Nightingales hold firm in their roots as they learn to value the necessity for true dedication in teamwork, humility, and respect.
Throughout the academic year, the Nightingales partake in quarterly concerts with the various ensembles within the THHS Vocal Department. This includes The Festival of Choirs in the October, the Winter Concert in the December, the POPS Concert in March, and the Summer Concert in May/June. This year, they will also be participating in the Music Aliso Women’s Festival, the Southern California Vocal Association Choral Festival (sight-reading), and various choral exchanges with neighboring high school treble ensembles.
Each year, the ensemble also partakes a the WorldStrides state or national choral festival. This gives our singers the opportunity to sing and compete amongst some of the nation’s top high school choral ensembles and gives students the opportunity to travel and sing in the country’s most beautiful concert halls and colleges. This past choral season, our Nightingales participated in their first state festival in Anaheim, California and received the highest score throughout the festival weekend, inviting them to sing in New York City at the world famous Carnegie Hall.

From the Presidents
Emily Sharp
Nightingales President
Hi! I’m Emily Sharp and I am the Nightingales President. Growing up, I have always loved music, it gave me an outlet to find connection and be creative. I would not be the person I am today without music. I have been in the Vocal Department for about four years now, and am beyond grateful for the memories I have been able to create. From all the performances to creating amazing music, I have felt the passion that can be sung with every lyric. Being in choir has taught me to be a team player, and how to overall be a better person. This group has given me a space to express myself and grow my confidence. I am so excited to be leading such a powerful and creative group of people. I am looking forward to getting to know each person. I can’t wait for the memories to come!
Nicole Ronquillo
Nightingales Vice-President
Hi, I’m Nicole Ronquillo, your Nightingales Vice-President for this year! Music has always been one of my sanctuaries and being able to delve deeper into it through this program has helped me grow in a multitude of ways. I joined the Nightingales my sophomore year, unknowing of what the entire program or group was about. The time I spent that year with that group, its people, and music, inspired me to continue in this program. Adding to my musical background, choral and vocal music had been revealed to me and led me to a new passion and pathway of music. This year, I am eager to cultivate the musical passion of not only myself but those around me through the Nightingales and within this vocal program. But most importantly, I am very excited to create new bonds, stronger relationships, and lifelong friendships throughout this year whether it be in performances, class, or on tour. I hope to share the joy of music together in order to connect to others just as this group had connected to me years ago. It is my greatest pleasure and honor to be working with such an amazing group and I cannot wait for what is in store for us!
new orleans, Louisiana TOUR
April 8th- 11th
For the 2025/2026 Spring tour season, our Chamber Choir and Nightingales will be traveling to New Orleans, Louisiana. As both ensembles prepare an incredibly challenging selection of repertoire, the choirs will work with well-accomplished professors of choral music throughout the Southern Californian region and well-renowned composers along their journey. While in New Orleans, the students will explore the heritage and culture of much of what Louisiana has to offer towards our students. They will explore the city, witness spectacular performances, and exchange music with ensembles from throughout the county. Additionally, they will partake in a ghost tour as they explore the infamous French Quarter, indulge in the highly sought-after beignets of Cafe du Monde, listen to phenomenal jazz inside Preservation Hall, take an airboat through the bayou to see the seasonal flowers, vegetation, and local gators, partake in a choral exchange with Loyola University, and perform formally and informally throughout the city. Let’s wish our Mustangs good luck as they embark on this once in a lifetime experience to complete and collaborate with some of the country’s best choral musicians.
